Jan Fitzgerald, Glass
Originally from the Appalachian foothills, Jan Fitzgerald moved to Virigina in the 1970’s. In Richmond she made her hobby into a career by attending Virginia Commonwealth University, where she received a BFA degree.
Jan’s early career involved public and private mural work with ceramic tile. One of her most noted murals is installed in the Williamsburg Marriott in Kingsmill.
Since 2001, Jan has used her expertise with color and design in her current medium, glass. Jan now coordinates color and design in slumped glass, creating vases, trays, and plates.
